Marwan Issa is a Non-Resident Fellow at Badil | The Alternative Policy Institute, specialising in sociopolitical analysis with a focus on social movements, civil society, and political economy in the MENA region. He brings extensive experience in qualitative research, policy analysis, and advocacy, contributing to high-impact projects on human rights and working with organisations such as Oxfam, the Asfari Institute, UN ESCWA, the University of Exeter, and international research institutions. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communications from the American University of Beirut and a Master’s in Development Studies from the University of Sussex. Marwan Issa has also been a volunteer political organizer for over seven years, having served as the Head of the Political Office of the youth-based Mada Network and as a co-founder of numerous electoral campaigns, including the 2022 Beirut Resists parliamentary elections campaign in Beirut.
