Perla Khaled is a Research Intern at Badil | The Alternative Policy Institute, with experience in human rights advocacy, legal research, and policy analysis. Her work focuses on accountability, access to justice, and the intersection of prisons, social control, and postcolonial legacies in Lebanon and the broader region. Perla holds a master’s degree in Human Rights and Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where her research examined the historical and contemporary roles of prisons in Lebanon, exploring the enduring impact of colonial structures on modern systems of control. She completed a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Affairs, with a double minor in Multimedia Journalism and Legal Studies, at the Lebanese American University (LAU).
