John is the Managing Editor of BADIL | The Alternative Policy Institute. He has spent his career working on a range of issues in security, governance, and justice. John previously managed the International Law Programme at Chatham House, overseeing research on human rights, conflict and the protection of civilians, and the governance of emerging technologies.
John has advised the Kyiv Independent, Ukraine’s largest English-language newspaper, and its think tank, KI Insights. John has experience working with a range of governments, businesses, the United Nations, and the International Criminal Court.
Before this, John helped scale The Entrepreneurial Refugee Network (TERN), the first social enterprise in the UK dedicated to supporting refugees launch their own businesses.
John holds a BSc in International Relations and History from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
